Even after passing on Justin Fields and Mac Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos could be in on quarterbacks on day two. Wait a minute, really?

Yes, really.

Until they make selections at a different spot, you never know what they’re going to do, and there has been more than one connection made between the Denver Broncos and at least one possible day two pick at quarterback.

Would George Paton really pass on Fields and Jones only to take a lesser prospect a round or two later?

We’ll see how things shake out, but again, nothing is impossible and Paton has already shocked us all by taking Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II despite saying at his pre-draft press conference — and I quote — “We don’t need to draft a cornerback.”

Paton has Teddy Bridgewater in place as a veteran fail-safe and Drew Lock as a younger guy with potential. With that being said, Paton and the rest of the Denver Broncos front office might like some of the guys still left on the board in tandem with the pick of Patrick Surtain II more than they like Justin Fields combined with whatever prospects they would have looked at in round two if they had drafted him.

Let’s take a look through three of the possible day two picks at the quarterback position if the Denver Broncos are seriously interested in pulling the trigger.
