The team likes other options they can get in a trade down

There’s the NFL Draft saying that goes, “if you like a player, go and get him.”

That applies to a point.

If you absolutely know that a prospect you like is going to be around later on in the first round, why not trade down and ultimately accumulate more draft capital?

Players the team might be interested in if they were to trade down include Michigan edge rusher Kwity Paye, Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore, or South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn.

How about this for a spicy trade-down option: Alabama running back Najee Harris.

The Broncos have flexibility in the 2021 NFL Draft. They don’t necessarily have a hole on the roster that needs to be addressed right away in the first round. They can choose the best player available, within reason.

Get ready, Broncos Country. We’re in for a fun ride.
