3. Penei Sewell and Rashawn Slater are off the board

This would be unfortunate.

While I am happy to go with many different options with the ninth overall pick, the idea that Penei Sewell and Rashawn Slater would both be off the board is a haunting thought. While I do feel like Sewell will be long gone, crazier things have happened in the NFL Draft.

Some teams view Slater as the top offensive tackle in the class, despite everybody seemingly being in love with Sewell. So, in reality, both might be off the board by the ninth pick.

The Broncos have to eventually address the tackle position with Ja’Wuan James possibly playing his final year with the Denver Broncos. They could select one in a later round, but if given the option, they need to make it happen.

The team is apparently happy with the progress of Calvin Anderson, who appeared on 132 offensive snaps during the 2020 season.

Even though they are high on Anderson, the idea that Sewell and Slater would be gone is a frightening thought.
