Pick by Cameron Parker

The Miami Dolphins’ first selection was Penei Sewell with the sixth overall pick. Next on their priority list could be a wide receiver, however, the Dolphins decided to replace Kyle Van Noy with a more athletic version of him in Zaven Collins.

Collins is an absolute freak of nature and very well could be a trade-back candidate for the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. With the Dolphins’ pick and looking for a potential Van Noy replacement, Collins would be incredible in the defense with Brian Flores.

Flores recently instituted an amoeba defense where players were moving around up front on the front seven making an offense question who is coming down as a rusher or in coverage. Collins would be a seamless fit here. He’s a freak athlete capable of playing edge, inside, or outside linebacker. The height is crazy with how fast he can move.

Factor in how freakishly gifted he is he’d make the coverage defense that much better as well. This is also not the first time under Flores would draft a freaky athlete. The Dolphins’ selection of Noah Igbinoghene in the first round last year screams that. Collins is an exciting pick for the Dolphins.
