Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have been connected for a really long time. As a matter of fact, for those who don’t know this, they were on the same coaching staff with the Cleveland Browns decades ago before ultimately going their separate ways.

Now, they are arguably the greatest coaches of all time in professional and collegiate football, respectively.

Their connection is still strong to this day and the Patriots have always been a strong potential landing spot for Alabama talent. This situation would be a godsend for New England.

There are rumors that the Patriots could end up trading Stephon Gilmore at some point in the 2021 NFL Draft. With JC Jackson in a contract year (again) and Gilmore possibly on his way out the doors, is there a better scenario than both Jaycee Horn and Patrick Surtain being on the board when the Patriots pick?

Surtain has the ability to step in immediately as a rookie and play. He has a lot of man coverage experience which works great for Belichick’s defense, and he would be able to give the Patriots a seamless transition if they do move on from Gilmore.
