Denver Broncos: Full first-round mock draft with a QB at 9?
Pick by Chandler Hyler
Second-year quarterback Justin Herbert is a star. He came out of the gates like a lightning bolt, eventually becoming the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Herbert needs to be protected, and with Penei Sewell and Rashawn Slater off the board, I turned to Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw here.
Darrisaw is a complete tackle who has all the traits you need to be a starter at the next level. He is sound in technique, squeezes down the line well, and holds up on the outside.
First-year Head Coach Brandon Staley said at the beginning of April that they needed to address the hole at left tackle, and Darrisaw would fill that hole. He’s a mauler in the running game but he also was dominant in pass protection this past season for the Hokies.
