Round 3 (71): Linebacker Jabril Cox

The Denver Broncos get my draft crush in this defensive mock draft with LSU linebacker Jabril Cox.

When it comes to covering tight ends and running backs, the Denver Broncos have been crucified over a number of years. In a division that boasts Travis Kelce and Darren Waller (thank goodness Hunter Henry is no longer in the division), the Broncos could absolutely use the best coverage linebacker in this year’s draft.

Cox can make a lot of plays in coverage, as well as in the run game. He is an explosive play-maker that would do the Denver Broncos wonders.

Denver does have Justin Strnad coming back from a season-ending injury. However, if you have the opportunity to draft a player that has the skill set that Cox does, there is no reason, in my mind, to not do it.

Cox has experience playing several other positions, including quarterback and wide receiver. Obviously, he will not do that in the NFL, but it just goes to show the type of athleticism he has.

Cox is the player I will fight tooth and nail for in this year’s class.
