The Denver Broncos are still looking to add another quarterback to the roster to compete with Drew Lock and if the team is not able to do that through the NFL Draft, then trading for a quarterback is an option.

Players such as Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew have all been rumored as possibilities to come to Denver via trade. But one name no one has really mentioned is that of second-year Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love.

Well, no one has mentioned it except for Fanduel, which recognizes the Broncos as the most likely trade partner with the Packers to acquire Love.

It’s a very enticing idea too.

When the Packers selected Love in the first round of last year’s draft, it was a strange move to say the least. While Love was certainly regarded as a first-round talent, the Packers already had Aaron Rodgers on the roster.

Rodgers responded to the idea of drafting his possible replacement by becoming the MVP of the league. With Rodgers playing at that level, Love is going to sit on the bench for at least the next couple of seasons.

Though the Packers did the very same thing with Rodgers before he eventually succeeded Favre, the team might see value in trading the young Love in order to acquire pieces to position itself for a Super Bowl run, something they came quite close to achieving last season.

For the Broncos, they could get a player who was high on the list of many teams last season and one who could push Lock and potentially even take his job.

What does Jordan Love bring to the table?

Love was a raw talent entering the draft but one with tremendous upside. Because he came out of Utah State, he had all of the questions regarding the level of competition he faced.

However, Love is quite athletic and he has enough mobility to make plays with his legs. But he will absolutely wow you with his arm talent. He can make every throw necessary and while he’s not quite Patrick Mahomes (who is), this kid can absolutely sling it. Take a look here (video).

This would be a bold move for Paton to make, but it could be well worth it. Though it would likely cost much more than a trade to get a veteran like Bridgewater, Foles or even the younger Minshew, Love’s ceiling is quite a bit higher than any of those guys.
