Brett Rypien

Brett Rypien is not a player that generates a lot of excitement when talked about as the primary backup, but he was given a chance to perform last season and though he made some young mistakes, he was better overall than Jeff Driskel.

It’s likely that Rypien will be on the team in some capacity and if no other quarterback is added, will sit at No. 2 on the depth chart behind Lock. The Broncos could go this route but if they did, it would be by default. It would mean that every other option just didn’t work out.

Plus, it would go against what Paton has stated that the team wants to add competition.

Rypien is the kind of backup you probably don’t want to have to turn to, at least at this juncture of his career. The Broncos likely want much more insurance behind Lock in case of injury, which happened last year, or ineffectiveness.

Which option would you like to see the Broncos go with?
