Denver Broncos: Who will be Drew Lock’s competition?
Trading for another quarterback is always an option and guys like Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew are players that are continually mentioned as possibilities for the Broncos to pursue.
Both of those guys would provide competition for Lock as both have had success as starters in the league. They could also be obtained for a much smaller price tag than it would cost to move up in the draft.
There is also the idea of trading for Deshaun Watson, an idea many Broncos fans don’t want to give up on, though potential legal issues for Watson have quieted those talks dramatically.
That said, it seems clear that Watson doesn’t intend to ever wear a Texans uniform again and if he can get past these off-field issues that have dominated his offseason, there will be a team out there that throws something at Houston in an attempt to trade for him.
That could be the team that loses out on the quarterback it wants in the draft, which could easily be the Broncos if the first four picks are all used on quarterbacks.
