Well, Broncos Country, tell me if you’ve heard cornerback Caleb Farley mocked to the team before.

If that sounds familiar, you are not mistaken.

Farley was once considered the top cornerback in the 2021 NFL Draft class. However, following the news that he needed back surgery, Farley has fallen on draft boards, and for good reason.

It’s not ideal to have back problems. It’s especially not ideal to have back problems when you’re 22 years old.

Farley stands at 6-foot-2, and weighs 197 pounds, and is a physical cornerback that the Broncos could use. That is if the team doesn’t see his injury history as that big of a concern.

The Broncos released A.J. Bouye this offseason but signed Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby. However, they would benefit from having a player from the draft at that position—one who would be around for at least four years.

71. Draft Pick. Ohio State. PeteWerner. player. 812. Pick Analysis. ILB

Ohio State linebacker Pete Werner jumps out on film with his explosive nature. He’s a guy that can do virtually anything you want him to.

That includes covering running backs as well as tight ends, which is something the Broncos desperately need. At this point, it’s become a running joke of how the Broncos need help in this department.

While coverage is a huge issue for the Broncos, it isn’t the only thing that the team would use Werner for. Werner is also known to be a solid blitzer. In a division with some pretty good quarterbacks (that’s an understatement), it’s very important for a team such as the Broncos to get pressure on quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes.
