If you’re asking me, the Denver Broncos have a bit bigger of a need at the tight end position than anyone has cared to notice or admit lately.
Noah Fant battled through injuries in 2020. Albert Okwuegbunam is coming off of a serious knee injury.
Nick Vannett was cut. Jake Butt and Troy Fumagalli remain free agents.
Where is the Broncos’ depth here? Andrew Beck, the fullback?
I think the Broncos have to go out and find a tight end in this draft, whether that’s someone like Notre Dame’s Tommy Tremble or even potentially someone like Hunter Long here in the fourth round.
Long is known for being a reliable target for the quarterback as well as a solid blocker. He burst onto the scene in 2020 to lead all tight ends in the FBS with 57 receptions en route to being named a 2nd-team All-American.
One of the things this guy does best is make tough catches in traffic.
With his well-rounded game as a blocker and receiver, Long could be the ideal TE3 for the Denver Broncos and someone who could provide a nice contrast to the games of Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam.
