Cowboys jump to draft Patrick Surtain in 2021 NFL Draft

The Cowboys lost Chidobe Awuzie in free agency to the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason, and despite re-signing two of their own cornerbacks, the Cowboys adding Surtain would not surprise me.

The problem is, they would have to jump up several spots if both they and the Broncos are interested in Surtain, which seems probable.

Even though the Broncos dipped into the free agency pool to sign a couple of cornerbacks, those players are not signed to very long-term deals. The Broncos would need to draft for the long-term.

Maybe the Cowboys want to trade up for the likes of tight end/wide receiver phenom Kyle Pitts. Even though it would be awesome to have a player like that on the Broncos, I’m not sure how likely that selection is for Denver. That being said, it would be good news if that’s the direction Dallas went.

Whatever Dallas plans on doing, it might negatively affect the Broncos when it is all said and done.
