Will the Denver Broncos select a quarterback in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft? That’s been a huge storyline over the last little while as we lead up to draft day.

We don’t know how the first group of picks is going to play out. We know that Trevor Lawrence is going to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first overall pick — it’s not official, but it’s well-known that this was going to be the pick.

Zach Wilson likely will be going to the New York Jets with the second overall pick, and the San Francisco 49ers traded up to the third pick to presumably take a quarterback.

Who will that quarterback be?

Well, there’s a lot of smoke with the 49ers and this situation. Some say that they really like Justin Fields. Some say they would love to select Mac Jones.

That ultimately would leave the Broncos with one or the other…

Assuming that no team tries to trade up between picks 5-8.

It’s also possible that the four quarterbacks will be off the board in the first four picks, leaving the Broncos with an interesting decision: Do they love Jones or do they love another player at a different position?

If a team trades up above the Broncos, it very well might not even be for a quarterback. The NFL Draft is just so crazy. We don’t fully know what a general manager or team is thinking.

Let’s take a look at a couple of teams that could trade up above the Broncos, putting them in a potentially annoying spot.
