Fifth round: Malik Jackson, 2012

Like Thomas, Malik Jackson was another player that left for more money elsewhere, also signing with the Jaguars following the 2015 season. That said, when looking at some of the names drafted in the fifth round in the last 10 years, he’s easily the right choice.

Those names include the likes of Quanterus Smith, Tavarres King, Lamin Barrow, Lorenzo Doss, Jake Butt, Isaiah MvcKenzie, Troy Fumagalli and Justin Hollins.

The only guy who could really contend with Jackson for the nomination would be Connor MvGovern, but Jackson made more of an impact as he was part of one of the best defense’s the league has seen in the last  decade,  one that won a Super Bowl.

Jackson was not highly regarded coming out of Tennessee in college which is why he slid to the fifth round. He didn’t make an immediate impact in Denver either, being used sparingly during his rookie season.

In fact, he didn’t start all 16 games for the team until his final season with the Broncos in 2015. He finished his time with the Broncos with 14.5 sacks.

He was still a good player with the Jaguars but his career has really slowed down since the end of the 2017 season. In 2021, Jackson will be suiting up with his fourth  different team after signing with the Cleveland Browns this offseason.
