Over the course of the last 10 NFL drafts, the Denver Broncos have had some terrific picks to go along with some horrendous ones, like all teams.

Looking across the last decade of picks, there have been players integral to the team’s success that were selected in the draft, while others simply didn’t pan out or come close to living up to expectations.

Here, we will look at the best picks made in each round over the last 10 years. Coincidentally, that will cover the entire John Elway-era as the team’s general manager as his first draft at the helm took place in 2011.

Using the best pick made in each of the seven rounds of the draft over the last decade, we have put together the team’s ultimate draft team over that time.

Von Miller, 2011

This was a very easy choice as Miller was the best draft pick made by the team in the last 10 years in any round. The Broncos selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, right after the Carolina Panthers chose Cam Newton.

Miller was a standout defensive player at Texas A&M and projected quite well at the next level. But no one knew he would be as good as he ended up being.

Since, Miller has become the franchise’s all-time leader in career sacks and the best defensive player in team history. Over the last 10 seasons, Miller has established himself as one of the best pass-rushing linebackers to ever play in the league.

He was the key reason the team won Super Bowl 50, dominating Newton in the game en route to winning Most Valuable Player.

Elway has made some bad picks in the first round (Shane Ray, Paxton Lynch), but he knocked it out of the park with this pick.
