The Denver Broncos could certainly prioritize the linebacker position in the 2021 NFL Draft, but what if they don’t go with that position early on?

Although Josey Jewell is a capable starter, the Broncos might have the option of one more year of Jewell (whose contract expires after 2021) or one year of a player like KJ Wright.

Over the past 10 years, Wright has. been one of the best and most underrated linebackers in the NFL.

Wright also came into the league in the vaunted 2011 NFL Draft class, and even into his 10th NFL season, he’s playing at an elite level. He had 86 tackles in 2020 with 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, and 10 passes broken up.

Since the Broncos have made one-year pacts with players like Kyle Fuller and Kareem Jackson, would they not be willing to try and do the same with a guy like Wright who could potentially upgrade their second level of defense?

Wright paired with Alexander Johnson for a season sounds like a lot of fun.
