3. Melvin Ingram, EDGE

For teams like the Denver Broncos that could potentially be in the market for some veteran depth off the edge, a player like Melvin Ingram would be a fun possibility.

Von Miller may not have much say in the roster moves the team makes, but he would certainly be an advocate for Ingram.

Miller and Ingram have been pals for a long time and Ingram is a regular at Miller’s pass rush summit.

Although he only played seven games last season, Ingram would be some nice depth off the edge and could provide a veteran presence in case anyone gets hurt.

The rationale for signing Ingram would fall in line with the rationale for signing Aldon Smith. You bring this type of guy in as a third or fourth rusher and in case someone gets injured like Miller did in 2020 or Bradley Chubb in 2019.

The question is — would Ingram be willing to do that? Would he take a deal right now to play for a team where he might play 30 percent of the snaps or less?

That’s tough to say, but for the chance to play with Von Miller and get at his former team the Chargers a couple of times? Maybe.
