Virgil Green

For seven seasons, Virgil Green did the grunt work for the Broncos. He never dazzled as a pass-catching tight end, but man could he block.

Following the 2017 season, Green chose to move on as a free agent, signing with the division rival Chargers. After three seasons, the Chargers have apparently seen enough and don’t appear to have Green in their future plans.

That leaves Green looking for a new home, and the list of teams looking for a guy like him at this stage in his career is likely not very long. But as suggested here, one of those teams could be the Broncos.

The current tight end market does not have much to offer unless names like Tyler Eifert and Jesse James do something for you. Still, for a team to be interested in Green, it would need to be specifically looking for help from a blocking tight end.

Green will be 33 years old later this summer, so there is certainly a question regarding what he still has left in the gas tank.
