After the Denver Broncos missed out on former Houston Texans defensive lineman DJ Reader in the 2020 free agency circuit, they set their sights on former Tennessee Titans star Jurrell Casey in a trade.

The Broncos acquired Casey for the low, low price of a seventh-round draft pick.

Considering his productivity since he had been drafted out of USC in 2011, the cost to acquire Casey looked like highway robbery for John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

Putting this guy and his interior pass rush abilities with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, not to mention Shelby Harris and emerging star Dre’Mont Jones?

Forget about it.

Unfortunately, we never got to see any of that.

Miller was injured before the season started. Casey was injured just a couple of games into the season and finished with 14 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and two QB hits in his brief time with Denver.

Casey is undoubtedly one of the players on this list that would be fascinating to see come back to the Broncos at a reduced price. If he was going to do it, would he have done it already?

The Denver Broncos were the ones who had overseen his injury recovery this past year, and Casey certainly could see what the team has been doing in free agency and be intrigued at the possibility of coming back for another year and seeing what might happen.
