Right Tackle solution

This one again.

It seems to be one of the most-talked-about things when it comes to the Denver Broncos, and that’s because it is.

Unfortunately, we have yet to see anything from Ja’Wuan James, except that he stays hurt. I absolutely will not fault him for opting out of the 2020 season, but that fact really stinks, as a Broncos fan.

Since he opted out in 2020, this past year did not count against his contract, meaning that since he signed a three-year deal with the team two years ago, he still has two years remaining.

The big question is whether or not he will stay healthy.

It’s weird, but every other year James plays, he plays most — if not all — of an entire season. 2020 would have been that “lucky” year for James had he not opted out. That’s if you believe that sort of thing.

Regardless, the Broncos need to do some planning for the future. They tried several players at right tackle in 2020, including Demar Dotson and Elijah Wilkinson. Those two proved to not be the long-term answer for the team, and especially with Wilkinson leaving in free agency, it creates an even bigger hole there.

Penei Sewell is a left tackle, but if the Broncos feel like they can trade up for him in the draft, it would not surprise me if they do so, and put him at right tackle.

There are other guys who could potentially help in the 2021 draft.

Despite the team having what is possibly the best offensive line in  the division, they need to look at the future of the right tackle spot.
