No. 1: Offensive Tackle Ja’Wuan James

No player took a bigger hit to their status during the 2020 season than Ja’Wuan James. The well-paid tackle has only suited up for a handful of snaps since being signed during the opening hours of the 2019 free agency period.

James’ play on the field has never been a concern, his being available has.

The oft-injured James chose to opt-out of the 2020 season after missing most of the 2019 campaign.

His lack of availability did not sit well with fans or his teammates.

Many questions arose about James and whether he has a place on this roster. Though there is a large-cap hit if the Broncos were to move on from James, there have been plenty of conversations suggesting the team may do so.

No competition has been added and former starter Elijah Wilkerson has moved on to the Chicago Bears, which would indicate James’ spot is safe and he will be counted on to start in 2021.

A good season may lead to more opportunities for the talented James, and without those chances, his career may be shorter than he’d like.
