The Denver Broncos made a couple of medium-sized splashes on day one of the 2021 NFL Free Agency Frenzy, re-signing defensive tackle Shelby Harris and then signing cornerback Ronald Darby from the Washington Football Team.

Even after the signing of Darby, the Broncos might not be done adding to the cornerback position in free agency. The team could still pursue a variety of players as Darby is really one of the only “top” cornerbacks that came off the market on day one.

The Broncos ensured that they would address arguably their two biggest roster needs by giving deals to Harris and Darby, but how will they continue to add to the secondary through free agency?

According to Benjamin Allbright, Darby may only be the “first” cornerback signed by Denver.

The Broncos now have a top-four at the cornerback position of Ronald Darby, Bryce Callahan (who projects as the 2021 nickel), Michael Ojemudia, and Essang Bassey (coming off of injury).

With Callahan’s injury history and Ojemudia’s youth, it’s not overly surprising that the Broncos would be looking for additional help through free agency at cornerback. They were absolutely burned in 2020 with a rash of injuries at the position, so they could be looking to bring in someone for depth or even to project as a starter over Michael Ojemudia in 2021.

Let’s take a look at five more guys in free agency that could make some sense for the Broncos to look into.
