Kareem Jackson’s looming decision with his option should not preclude the Denver Broncos from creating one of the better defenses after this draft. It does not matter if they do or do not pick up the option. One such player along with the addition of Caleb Farley is Richie Grant.

Grant is a younger version of Jackson who would give Denver another playmaker on their defense with Vic Fangio. Grant would be Jackson’s heir apparent to the position and another weapon to use to stop the likes of Travis Kelce and Darren Waller.

It does not take one person, but multiple regarding those types of players. However, Grant brings versatility to where Fangio could use him in the box. Grant is an exceptional and instinctual tackler who has the speed to keep up with some of the better weapons like tight ends. The transition certainly will not be easy but working in Fangio’s defense helps.

You factor in his playmaking as a box safety and future replacement to Jackson it makes him exciting for Denver’s defense. Denver has never been in desperate need lately of creating more turnovers. If the Broncos add the likes of both Farley and Grant, the defense will be vastly improved.
