Cornerback is rich in free agency but there are possible trade targets for Denver Broncos if they so chose.

The Denver Broncos could sign a veteran like Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Xavier Rhodes, or others in free agency. They could also be aggressive in pursuing cornerbacks via the trade market. Through the trade market and with some aggressiveness, new Denver Broncos GM George Paton could find notable names.

The names we will list fit a competitive, win-now mode where Denver can challenge for the playoffs.

Being a competitive football team would be no issue with the fanbase while also still rebuilding other areas. People forget Denver had steadily been rebuilding ever since 2016. It was slow, but Denver is in the mode of transition now.

John Elway felt it was in their best interest to move on to another position with the team. This opened the door for a new general manager. George Paton came through that door excited for the opportunity to take on this “sleeping giant” of a football team.

What is unknown is the direction to where he will go in the offseason. This of course means after re-signing (or not) in-house players: Justin Simmons (extension), Kareem Jackson (club option), Von Miller (club option), and Shelby Harris (re-sign).

Once all the possible ducks are in a row there, Paton could turn to this aggressive mode where he finds a cornerback via trade. There are multiple scenarios Denver could attack at corner.

They could sign two, head to the draft, and select one. Second, sign only one cornerback and draft two corners. Lastly, sign one, trade for one, and still draft a corner. The identity is still is unknown. Fear of the unknown has its positives and negatives. With Paton being new, the positives outweigh the negatives.

So who are some potential notable trade candidates?
