Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 2. player. 13. CB. Chargers. MichaelDavis

Michael Davis doesn’t get a lot of publicity.

He has a common name and wears the number 43, typically not what you’re seeing outstanding outside cornerbacks wear unless they are undrafted free agents these days.

Still, Davis has been an ascending player for the Chargers’ defense and deserves a decent payday in 2021 free agency.

The Denver Broncos should be pretty heavily “in” on the cornerback position in free agency this offseason, and he just so happens to be a very good fit for Vic Fangio’s defense.

At 6-foot-2, 196 pounds, Davis ran a 4.40 at the BYU pro day in 2017 and has put in the work to develop his all-around game at the NFL level. Over the course of the past two seasons, he has picked off five passes and broken up 23 others.

With his length and improving ability to break on the ball and create turnovers, Davis could be an ideal fit for one of the outside cornerback spots in Vic Fangio’s defense and if the Broncos could get him at a reasonable rate on something like a three-year deal, this fit could be tremendous.

One way or another, the Denver Broncos will be active in pursuit of free agent cornerbacks and Davis makes a ton of sense to poach away from the division rival Chargers.
