With Ndakukong Suh hitting free agency, Shelby Harris could be a nice replacement.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Todd Bowles, meet Shelby Harris.

Bowles is the Buccaneers’ defensive coordinator and has been a pretty darn good defensive coordinator during his time in the league. He helped put guys into position and come in fourth place in the league in terms of defensive sacks. He could be a big influence if Harris is considered.

The  Buccaneers just won a Super Bowl, and one of their top defensive linemen, Ndamukong Suh is scheduled to hit free agency this year.

I’m sure Tampa Bay would want to bring Suh back, and it likely would be at a reduced salary as he isn’t young anymore, but if they lose out on Suh, Harris could be the way to go.

According to Spotrac, the Buccaneers have just over $19 million in cap space in 2021.

We don’t know the status of the Bucs’ free agents, but if they can keep their core together while adding Harris, maybe they will be able to — what’s the popular phrase I’ve been seeing lately?—run it back.

Harris would help that defensive front be even better in 2021. He’d make everyone, even the linebackers in Shaquil Barrett and Devin White, better.

I really do believe that Harris on that Buccaneers defensive line would be fun to see.
