The Denver Broncos are in need of linebacker help and have done their due diligence on one of the 2021 NFL Draft’s top prospects at the position, meeting with Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins.

A 6-foot-4, 260-pound redshirt junior, Collins is projected to go somewhere between the late-first round to early second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Collins would fit nicely in Vic Fangio’s defense because he has the ability to do many different things, including pass rush, coverage, and stopping the run.

He is a freakish athlete. In 2020, Collins had four interceptions, including two that went for touchdowns.

Pro Football Network listed the Broncos as a potential fit for Collins.

They would clearly have a lot of competition for him, and for good reason.

What would it take for the Broncos to get Zaven Collins in the 2021 NFL Draft?

The Broncos have the ninth overall pick in April and have been predicted to draft a cornerback by most people.

That being said, it is possible that they try to trade back up into the first round, even though that would likely cost a lot.

With Collins possibly going in the first round, the Broncos have to love what he would bring to the table if they were to trade up. They have the ninth overall pick, but also the 40th overall pick.

Furthermore, Denver has picks 71, 114, 153, 193, 235, 237, and 252.

The Broncos could gamble with their 2022 first-round pick if they truly are high on Collins. The big question here is, are they willing to give up that much to trade up to draft him?

The team has Justin Strnad who was projected to be a solid contributor in 2020 but he suffered a season-ending wrist injury in August.

The NFL Draft is very unpredictable so you just never know if a player will fall into your lap. Could this happen for the Broncos? It very well could.
