3. Justin Simmons extension
The Denver Broncos want safety Justin Simmons back. Simmons wants to be back in the Mile High City.
Let’s do a deal.
According to Over The Cap, the Broncos currently have the fifth-most cap space at $42,350,603.
Re-signing Simmons has got to be the team’s number one priority this offseason. Simmons is only 27-years old and is already a top player at his position.
If there’s one player the Broncos should sign to a contract extension, it has to be Simmons. You can make a case for somebody like Shelby Harris, but Simmons is more of a game-changer in that he makes plays on the football with his range and athleticism and is a solid tackler.
It would be a disappointment if the two sides are unable to get a deal done by the time a franchise tag would have to be applied to Simmons. That being said, I think both sides come to an agreement, keeping Simmons in Denver for a long, long time.
