Over the past couple of years, the Denver Broncos’ pro scouting department has taken an obvious liking to former Houston Texans players.

There are some players who had coaching connections in Denver whether that was Gary Kubiak at one point, defensive line coach Bill Kollar at another, or even Vance Joseph.

The Broncos could look at another former Houston Texans player and more recently Arizona Cardinals player in defensive lineman Angelo Blackson in 2021 free agency.

Blackson was a fourth round pick by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft and he’s floated between the Titans and Texans since that time, playing mostly a rotational role from 2015-18. He started 15 games for the Texans in 2019 before signing a free agent contract with the Cardinals in 2020 where he really broke out.

Playing just 50 percent of the Cardinals’ snaps in 2020, Blackson (who played all 16 games and started nine) racked up 24 total tackles, 8 QB hits, 2.5 sacks, and 12 QB pressures.

If you can get him in a rotational role, he has the size (6-foot-4, 320 pounds) and productivity to be a really sneaky good pickup for a year or two.
