3. Roy Robertson-Harris, Bears (age: 28 in July)
Speaking of tremendous fits for Vic Fangio’s defense, how about a guy who has some connections to him already in Chicago Bears free agent defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris?
Robertson-Harris was an edge defender out of UTEP who signed with the Bears as a rookie free agent in 2017, worked his way onto the active roster as a defensive lineman, and has developed into a really good rotational piece.
At 6-foot-5, 292 pounds, he’s also one of the longest players on this list and would be an intriguing option if the Broncos want to go with a couple of players on this list of prospective free agents.
Over the course of his first three seasons in the NFL, Robertson-Harris had 7.5 sacks, 25 QB hits, six batted passes, and eight tackles for loss. He also added 32 total pressures in 2018-19.
This past season, he played in just eight games but still managed five quarterback hits.
Because of his familiarity with Vic Fangio’s defense already, Robertson-Harris could make a seamless transition to Denver and play in a scheme where he has has proven success in the NFL. Because he missed significant time this past season, he could also come at a bargain price.
