4. More help along the defensive line

The Broncos should make every effort to bring Shelby Harris, an unrestricted free agent, back into the fold. But even if he is re-signed, the team is likely to move on from Jurrell Casey in a move to get room under the salary cap.

Dre’Mont Jones seems to be on his way to becoming a  star and Mike Purcell will be back in 2021, but beyond that, there are a lot of question marks.

The team had to turn to guys like DeShawn Williams and Sylvester Williams in 2020 as third-round pick McTelvin Agim needed more development than the team may have originally thought.

Jones, Purcell and DeShawn Williams should all be part of the rotation in 2021, but the team needs to beef up the middle and look to re-sign Harris and possibly bring in a high-profile free agent such as Leonard Williams.

The Broncos ranked 25th against the run this past season, allowing 130 yards per game on the ground. That is a number that must get much better.

For some context, seven of the top 10 teams in allowed rushing yards per game made the playoffs. The team that was the best against the run, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, won it all.
