When the Denver Broncos faced off against the Buffalo Bills late in the 2020 season, no player was flying around for Buffalo’s defense quite like linebacker Matt Milano.

Playing in just 25 defensive snaps that particular game, Milano racked up six total tackles, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hit. He also made an impact in coverage.

That is undoubtedly where the Denver Broncos could use his expertise.

Although Josey Jewell has proven himself to be a very capable run defender (and he was especially improved in that regard in 2020) the team has lacked a coverage presence at linebacker, an area where Milano has historically excelled.

A former fifth-round pick out of Boston College, Milano has 21 career pass breakups including a whopping nine in the 2019 season when he played and started 15 games.

Milano has also proven himself to be a heck of a pass rusher when used in that regard, racking up 25 total pressures over the last three seasons and 19 quarterback hits over that same timeframe. How would the Denver Broncos get Milano out of Buffalo, though?

In order to pry him away from a strong situation like the one in Buffalo, the Broncos would likely have to pay a premium. As strong as Milano has been the past couple of seasons, it might be worth the cost to get him. He should be considered a top target for the Denver Broncos if he hits the market.
