4. Rod Smith

Rod Smith is one of the most beloved Broncos of all-time, and for good reason. He took the hard road to get where he got and became the best wide receiver in Broncos history.

Smith went undrafted out of Missouri Southern in 1994 and was a longshot to make the roster. But when he got his chance, he made the most of it.

Smith holds numerous team records, including most receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in team history. He also had the most seasons of 1,000 yards receiving in team history. But to get to the Hall of Fame, you need more than team records.

What Smith did as an undrafted player should be remembered.

To this day, he has more receiving yards (11,389) and receiving touchdowns (68) than any undrafted player in league history. He was also the first undrafted player to ever eclipse 10,000 yards receiving.

Unfortunately for Smith, it seems there are several wide receivers in line to get into the Hall and the committee rarely seems to put more than one in at a time. Smith is deserved, but he may be waiting a long, long time for the call.
