The Denver Broncos should be looking at all options to fix the cornerback position this offseason.

The first domino fell earlier in the week when the team chose to part ways with A.J. Bouye. Though that move was expected, the team will need to make a move to replace him and find depth at the position.

Bouye was tabbed as the replacement for Chris Harris last offseason when John Elway realized he was likely going to lose the veteran quarterback, so he orchestrated a trade to get Bouye from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Due to injuries and a league-imposed suspension, Bouye did not work out in Denver.

The Broncos will need to look to both free agency and the draft to find help at the cornerback position going into 2021. We have covered that from all angles, talking about some first-round cornerbacks the team could look at, a deep list of free-agent cornerbacks to consider and a shorter list highlighting some veterans at the position.

But how about some cornerbacks the team should pass on?

The free-agent market is deep this year at the cornerback position, but some of these players,  for one reason or another, be it the cost they would incur or the type of production they have had in their career, should be ignored.

Here are three such players the Broncos should take a hard pass on.

Once considered one of the best corners in football, Josh Norman is still a competitor and is coming off his first season with the Buffalo Bills, his third NFL  team.

But it does seem as though Norman’s best days are behind him. He turned  33 years old in December and played in just over half of the team’s games this past season. He will be looking for a new deal somewhere, but it would be surprising if any team offered him more than a one-year contract.

If the Broncos fell short in their pursuit of several other cornerbacks on the market, then they could turn to Norman, but it would seem like a desperate move. That’s not to say that Norman can’t play anymore, it  just seems that with the money he would likely be looking for, that those resources would be better to use on a younger player with more upside.
