Taking advantage of the New England Patriots Rebuild

The Patriots are looking to rebuild after watching Tom Brady leave last season just to win a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while they missed the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.

The Broncos can take advantage of the Patriots’ desire to rebuild and may need draft picks to go get a quarterback to take over for Brady in the upcoming draft.

Patriots trade target: Stephon Gilmore

The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year was absolutely tremendous for New England again last season. So, it was shocking to read reports that the Patriots were open to trading Gillmore before last season.

He again could be on the trade block, and would instantly make the Broncos defense better. Like Lattimore, Gilmore would make this secondary elite.

For Bill Belichick, the ability to acquire high-round draft-pick capital for players a bit past their prime might make. At 30, Gilmore may have a few good seasons left in him and a good short-term solution to replace newly released A.J. Bouye.
