Broncos Super Bowl Takeaways: Speed at inside linebacker is a necessity

Linebackers Devin White and Lavonte David were absolute nightmares for receivers across the middle and backs attempting to get to the second level. White finished the game with 12 combined tackles, two tackles for loss, and a pass defended, while David finished with six tackles and two passes defended.

It was impossible to miss either of them when watching the Buccaneers on defense. Both White and David’s impact on the game went even beyond their stat line at their speed was a reminder of what the Broncos do not have.

Both David and White posed matchup problems for tight end Travis Kelce, unlike any other matchup he has had this season. Additionally, their presence made it difficult for the Chiefs receivers to get free coming across the field.

Though Alexander Johnson and Josey Jewell performed admirably, there is a noticeable difference between what the Buccaneers have at linebacker and what the Broncos have.

Look for the Broncos to address each of the three takeaways this offseason as they try and replicate what the Buccaneers did on Super Bowl Sunday.
