The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just provided most of Broncos Country some satisfaction as they took apart the NFL poster boy quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55 by dominating throughout the game to a one-sided 31-9 victory Sunday evening at Raymond James Stadium.

The Buccaneers provided a blueprint for the Denver Broncos on how to beat Mahomes and the Chiefs. What we all learned was that it takes a complete effort in all three phases of the game to take down one of the premier teams in the NFL.

Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles provided his team a masterful performance in dialing up pressure mixed with effective coverages designed to keep Mahomes uncomfortable all game long.

Additionally, the Bucs were able to produce in the air and on the ground. Tom Brady earned MVP honors while throwing for three touchdowns while the backs churned out over 145 yards on the ground.

How the Buccaneers controlled the pace of the game cannot be lost on the Broncos. They were able to hit the Chiefs often in the run game, but that has to translate to control of the pace. The Broncos must dictate the game to the Chiefs and not the other way around.

Setting aside Broncos fans’ disdain for Brady, there are several key takeaways the Broncos can use to improve and compete with the Chiefs in the AFC West.
