It was no secret that linebacker was a position the Denver Broncos struggled to maintain stability with since Von Miller went down with a tendon injury just before the season began.
While former fifth overall pick in the 2018 draft Bradley Chubb, who was selected to his first Pro Bowl this season, has done an amicable job, there wasn’t anyone who complimented him as well as Miller did during his rookie season. Matt Judon could solve two questions the Broncos are facing at the position.
Not knowing what the future holds for Miller, who not only brings a $17.5 million cap hit for 2021, but has faced uncertainty with various legal issues in the past month. If Denver decides to move on from the seven-time All-Pro, they could target Judon to fill the void.
Judon has stated that he has no clue what will happen in the offseason, and given the fact that the Baltimore Ravens will have their own decisions on who to re-sign with the likes of Yannick Ngakoue and Pernell McPhee, Judon could be looking elsewhere.
Price could be tricky however, as the 29-year old has yet to record double digit sacks in his career and Denver would most likely want to get him at a price of $5-$7 million a year. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that the linebacking corps could feature Chubb, Alexander Johnson and Judon.
