If the Broncos win…

A win would leave the Broncos at 6-10 on the season and almost certainly knock them out of the top 10 and most likely down toward the No. 15 overall choice, which is exactly where they drafted Jerry Jeudy in the last draft.

The Broncos beating the Raiders is always a good thing, especially when that Raiders team beat them by 25 points the first time around. However, a win puts them much further down the draft board than a loss would in this case.

It makes it hard to decide which you would rather see.

Most teams in professional sports are not going to “tank”, despite what many seem to believe. Vic Fangio and John Elway are not going to be thinking about the next draft and what pick the team could have. Their focus will be on the task at hand, which is beating Las Vegas.

There could be positives drawn from a victory even if it ultimately hurts the team’s draft position. If the Broncos can beat their division rival and if Drew Lock performs well in the process, the team can look to carry over that momentum into next season.

It also wouldn’t hurt to win the game in convincing fashion and avenge the earlier loss this season. Even if that means drafting a few slots later than a potential loss would bring, many fans would take the thrill of a victory like that instead.
