DeMarcus Walker

Believe it or not, DeMarcus Walker has likely made himself some cash with his play in 2020.

Walker is fourth on the team with 4.5 sacks this season and he has done that while playing on just 33.7 percent of the defensive snaps. That shows him to be turning into a solid situational pass rusher and there are teams that love those kind of players.

The Broncos may choose to move on from Walker or just determine that there is no huge role for him, especially if he wants to play more. That was basically the case with Shaquil Barrett following the 2018 season.

While Walker may not turn into one of the game’s best sack artists the way that Barrett has, he might be able to find a team willing to give him more than 33.7 percent of its snaps. For that, he could probably find a better deal than he’ll be offered by the Broncos.

Walker was a second-round pick for the team and has never really lived up to his pre-draft potential, but that doesn’t mean another team can’t get that out of him. Walker is still just 26 years old and could have a lot of football left.

Of course, the Broncos may see a bigger role for him and he may be happy with the development he has achieved in Denver, leading to the two sides making a deal this offseason.
