Broncos pass rusher Bradley Chubb is out this week against the Chargers.

Add Bradley Chubb to the long list of injuries for the Denver Broncos.

The outside linebacker will not play this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. Chubb is dealing with an ankle injury and did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. On Friday, he was only a limited participant.

Chubb was recently elected to the 2021 Pro Bowl after registering 7.5 sacks this season. If he’s available in Week 17, he can add to that total. Hopefully he does.

Chubb’s latest injury is just an add-on to last year’s major one, when he tore his ACL and missed most of the 2019 season.

The Broncos haven’t had Von Miller at all this season after he suffered an ankle injury that he thought he would be able to come back from. Unfortunately, that probably won’t be the case.

When Miller and Chubb were together in 2018, the two combined for 26.5 sacks. Even though the team’s record didn’t indicate it, it was pure dominance on that level of the defense. Broncos fans cannot wait to see the pair team up again. It’s very unfortunate that it has to wait until next season to do so.

The news comes on the same day that it was announced that running back Phillip Lindsay would be placed on injured reserve with hip and knee injuries.

Backups need to step up at OLB

The Broncos have gotten a great addition to the defense with Malik Reed filling in for Miller this season. He has really shown improvement in his new starting role, with 6.5 sacks, 47 tackles, and eight tackles for loss on the season. Reed also has 13 quarterback hits, eight more than his season total last year.

There isn’t any comparison between Miller and Reed, but Reed has shown that he is able to be a nice player for the Broncos if he had to play more and more.

Next. Has Phillip Lindsay played his last snaps for the Denver Broncos?. dark

Denver could also see Jeremiah Attaochu, Derrek Tuszka, and Anthony Chickillo at some point or another against the Chargers.
