Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb get Pro Bowl nods.

The Denver Broncos had a struggling season this year, and the best record they can finish with is a mediocre 7-9. However, with the playoffs no longer a possibility, there are still some nice things to see.  With 2021 Pro Bowl rosters being announced on Monday, two members of the Broncos have made the AFC team.

Congratulations are in order for safety Justin Simmons and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb.

Simmons finally gets the Pro Bowl nod many expected him to get this year after being a head-scratching snub last year. Last season, Simmons was named an All-Pro. All-Pro without a Pro Bowl to go along with it? That was very shocking.

This year, Simmons has 89 tackles, and four interceptions for 83 yards. Of the 89 tackles, only 16 have been assisted. The rest have been solo. Simmons had four games in which he had eight tackles, and one in which he had nine. He has played on every single snap on the defensive side of the ball so far during the last three seasons, which is just incredible.

While Simmons was named to the Pro Bowl, unfortunately he isn’t listed as a starter. Deservedly so is Minkah Fitzpatrick of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bradley Chubb makes Pro Bowl in comeback season

The other member of the Broncos who made the Pro Bowl this year is outside linebacker Bradley Chubb.

Chubb, who the Broncos took fifth overall in the 2018 NFL draft, has 42 tackles (just 16 of which are assisted tackles), as well as 7.5 sacks on the year.

Chubb is tied with five other players in the AFC with 7.5 sacks. There are five other defenders in the AFC who have more.

This is a huge accomplishment for Chubb, however. Chubb missed 12 games last season after tearing his ACL. To come back from that bad of an injury and put up the number he has is amazing.

The 2021 Pro Bowl will not be played, but instead it will be a Madden 21 competition. This is due to the COVID-19 situation happening in the world.

Congratulations to two of the best players on the Denver defense. It’s a great day for them.
