Denver Broncos inactive list for the matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

When the Denver Broncos take on the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, their secondary is going to be missing key pieces.

Previously, cornerback A.J. Bouye had been suspended for several games that would lead into the 2021 season. Bouye was a huge addition via trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past offseason to replace former Bronco Chris Harris Jr.

Also in the defensive secondary, Denver will be without 2019 free agent signee Bryce Callahan. Callahan missed all of last season with a foot injury. This time around is also a foot injury for Callahan. The injury put him on the injured reserve list.

The other two cornerbacks that won’t be able to suit up for Denver on Saturday—and for the rest of the season—are Essang Bassey and Duke Dawson. Both players suffered torn ACLs in recent weeks.

Kicker Brandon McManus is on the COVID-19 list and will ultimately miss this week’s game. He was a close contact with someone who has the virus. McManus expressed his frustration because of the timing of being on the list. Had the game been Sunday instead of Saturday, he would have been able to play.

Now, they’ll have a new kicker for Saturday.

The Broncos signed Taylor Russolino from the practice squad to take McManus’ place this week. In 2017 with the Montreal Alouettes, Russolino made 2-of-3 field goals.

This will be Russolino’s first-ever NFL appearance. He had previously been a part of several different football leagues. Along with the Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, Rrussolino has spent time with the Marion Blue Racers, New Orleans VooDoo, Spokane Empire, Shanghai Skywalkers, and St. Louis BattleHawks before joining the Broncos.

The Broncos will get right guard Graham Glasgow back after he missed last week due to a foot injury. Rookie Netane Muti filled in for Glasgow last week.

While Glasgow will be active, right tackle Demar Dotson (hand) will not. Dotson recorded full days of practice all week.

Safety Trey Marshall was listed as questionable for the game but will play. Inside linebacker Mark Barron is once again inactive.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel, wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland, defensive tackle Sylvester Williams and outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo round out the remaining inactive players for the Broncos.

Broncos backfield good to go

The Broncos’ top two running backs, Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon, were listed as questionable for Saturday’s game. Both are good to go.

Lindsay was limited in practice all week with a hip injury, while Gordon missed Tuesday’s practice and was limited the next two days with a shoulder injury.

Next. Key individual matchups against the Buffalo Bills. dark

It will take a lot to compete with Buffalo and having Lindsay and Gordon in the backfield is going to be very crucial. Hopefully, we see a good mix of run and pass in this game.
