Key Matchups

Broncos defense vs. Josh Allen

As it stands right now, the Buffalo Bills have the fourth ranked pass offense in the NFL today. It is kind of crazy to imagine that from my point of view because it doesn’t seem as if Josh Allen throws for a lot of yards. Maybe I have missed something, but he has come into his own over this season.

With the Broncos suffering injury after injury to cornerbacks this season, this is going to be a real test for this Denver team. Not only do they need to defend against Josh Allen in the passing game, but they must watch to make sure he does not take off running either.

One thing that I have noticed about the Broncos and mobile quarterbacks is that sometimes they do not mix. Hopefully, they can spy on Allen somewhat effectively.

Melvin Gordon vs. Bills run defense

For the Broncos to be effective in this game, there will need to be a lot of Gordon and Lindsay. I specifically pointed out Melvin Gordon due to the fact that he has been getting the bulk of the touches lately.

When he is not fumbling the football, he has been very solid in the run game. Facing a Bills defense that is in the middle of the road when it comes to stopping the run can set up Drew Lock to be effective in the passing game.

X-Factors

Denver Broncos: De’Vante Bausby

With the cornerback room very thin, the Broncos will be relying on Bausby to help out in the passing game. Stefon Diggs is one of the best wide receivers this season. Depending on where Denver lines up their cornerbacks, Bausby could be in for a tough game. But if he performs well, it could be a bit easier.

Buffalo Bills: Dawson Knox

While it has not been a huge factor over the last few weeks, I would like to see how the Broncos defend a tight end more closely. While Dawson Knox might not be the most well known tight end, he could be in store for a big game.
