Brandon McManus to miss the game due to COVID-19

Remember a few weeks ago when the coronavirus was the reason behind four of Denver’s quarterback’s missing the game and Kendall Hinton was forced to start? Those were fun times. Now the virus has hit in the special teams department. More specifically the place kicker.

Brandon McManus was in close contact with someone who had the virus. Because he needed to test negative for five days straight, he will not be eligible to play on Saturday. It was mentioned that if this game was played on Sunday, McManus would have been cleared in time.

Denver will now turn to Taylor Russolino to handle the place kicking duties for the Broncos for this game. Hopefully, he will be up to the challenge.

A microscopic chance at the playoffs

Despite the fact that Denver is 5-8 on the season, the team can still find its way into the postseason. But they need to win their final three games and get a lot of help. (Subscription required)

The first domino fell when the Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. Now they need the Raiders to win next week and lose the season finale to the Broncos.

Also, the Broncos need the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens to lose their final three games. And the last part that needs to happen is for the New England Patriots to win against Miami and lose at least one of their other two games (Buffalo or Jets).

The one that concerns me the most is the Ravens because of their remaining schedule (Jaguars, Giants, Bengals). But you know what they say. Any Given Sunday. Just so happens the Broncos need three of those Sundays to have a fighting chance.
