Jake Butt

His career was once promising, even with a major injury that ended his college playing career, but it’s time for the Broncos to admit defeat with Jake Butt.

Unfortunately, the young tight end has been absolutely riddled with injuries that have kept him from ever making an impact on the field. It seemed that Butt would finally get his chance this year after the Broncos somewhat surprisingly kept him on the team following training camp instead of some other guys.

But a hamstring injury in early November landed him on injured reserve again.

Butt’s  playing career in the pro ranks has never gotten off the starting blocks because it has been one injury after another. When the Broncos selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 draft, it was widely believed that they got a huge steal if he could return to his form at Michigan.

That has never even come close to happening and to this point, Butt has a grand total of 10 catches for his career.

The Broncos seem intent to give him every chance to succeed, which is great, but you have to believe that those chances are about out.
