3. Logan Ryan, DB, New York Giants

This would be an interesting move.

Logan Ryan is currently playing safety for the Giants but has experience playing all around the secondary, which could be beneficial in Vic Fangio’s defense.  Ryan is playing on a 1-year deal, worth up to $7.5 million with the Giants, and will be a free agent after the season is over.

I bring up Ryan because A.J. Bouye just got hit with a 6-game suspension, and with the team being able to save $13 million in cap space if he is cut, it makes me wonder if the Broncos have already done that mentally.

If they do end up moving on from Bouye, I think Logan Ryan would be a nice replacement, and will probably be cheaper. Ryan is a versatile DB who could also help mentor a new draftee if the Broncos also go that route.

Ryan would be rather inexpensive, as I personally think the Broncos could sign him for around $10 million. With Kareem Jackson on the wrong side of 30 and entering the last year of his deal, and A.J. Bouye’s status with the team up in the air, signing Logan Ryan could be the short-term solution.

If the Broncos were to come away with these three players and take care of some in-house guys, I think that’d be the best free agency period we could ask for.
