Denver Broncos inactive list vs Panthers.

The Denver Broncos face the Carolina Panthers today in one of the early games, and will be missing a lot of key pieces.

Reported a short time ago, left tackle Garett Bolles came down with an illness (not COVID-related) and will be inactive.

That being said, the starting offensive line for the Broncos today is as follows:

LT: Calvin Anderson
LG: Dalton Risner
C: Lloyd Cushenberry
RG: Netane Muti
RT: Elijah Wilkinson

The biggest blow here is obviously the team’s long-term left tackle in Garett Bolles. The team had been very impressed with him that they signed him to an extension. Unfortunately, illnesses don’t care.

Risner and Cushenberry are the only players on the offensive line that have played at their specific positions all year long. Muti has not started on the offensive line yet but has played some special teams. It will be interesting to see how he fares Sunday in his first action. Some, including myself, have been very excited to see what he can do.

Also inactive for the Broncos are receiver/returner Tyrie Cleveland, safety Trey Marshall, inside linebacker Mark Barron, right guard Graham Glasgow, and defensive tackle Sylvester Williams.

The Broncos will get returner Diontae Spencer back after his time dealing with COVID-19.

Barron had been sick, while Glasgow has been dealing with a foot injury, Marshall with a shin injury, and Cleveland with an illness.

There is no worse-off unit on the Broncos than the offensive line. It’s key to keep the same unit on the field as much as possible because otherwise there is likely to be a lot of miscommunications. It would not surprise me if this unit struggles heavily, which would mean Drew Lock and other offensive players will struggle.

It’s a disappointing inactive list, as it would have been nice to have the team as healthy as possible while facing a struggling Panthers team.
