Pressure in the Chiefs’ backfield

While the first thing I mentioned was to run the ball, the Chiefs are still going to get the ball. They are going to want to score and have been known to be able to do that in many ways.

If the Broncos can eliminate the Chiefs’ run game, that could be a huge factor in their pass game. Unfortunately, Mahomes is a superstar quarterback, so he can make virtually any throw he is forced to make.

But at the end of the day, the team has to take things one play at a time.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is expected to play despite dealing with being sick, so it remains to be seen how effective he will be. Hopefully, he will be a little bit off his game tonight.

The Broncos will be without Von Miller on the edge but have relied on Malik Reed and Reed has not disappointed. He has 6.5 sacks and 44 solo tackles on the year. I am hoping to see him really step up as he has in other games this year.

Execution by Drew Lock

Drew Lock will have a tough test, as he will have pressure in his face all night. Remember Chris Jones? He’s unfortunately still a member of the Chiefs’ defense.

Pat Shurmur is going to have to find plays that will feed to Lock’s strengths and get the ball out of his hand at a reasonable pace.

A lot of the pressure Lock has faced has been because of the offensive line. It’s hard to play quarterback effectively when you don’t have time to throw the ball.

Next. Broncos need to establish who they are. dark

Going back to earlier, running the football should be a big thing. Not only will it keep the Chiefs on their heels, but it will put less pressure on the young quarterback.
